South of Market Health Center San Francisco, CA

Description Details

Polytech Associates collaborated with WRT Solomon ETC to design this new medical building that will replace the existing South of Market Health Center, a facility serving San Francisco’s South of Market and Tenderloin neighborhoods.

The state-of-the-art medical center will allow SMHC to double the number of patients it serves and meet the growing demand for primary and family health services. The new space will include a full-service patient and community pharmacy, and treatment spaces for women’s and children’s services, health education, adult medicine, and urgent care. The facility is located in an OSHPD III area, and the medical area required review and approval by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. Polytech is developing the tenant improvement program and WRT Solomon ETC is the base building/residential architect.

Building Information Management processes have been incorporated throughout the design process and SMHC has been designed to meet LEED Silver Certification. The new clinic will be open for patients on May 2, 2011.
